GOSH!!!

Why she's obsessed to a word called 'meeting' (but for us is more of a 'formal reporting':

a. It was her childhood imagination to do meetings so she could feel like someone important by being the center of attention while everyone in the room is reporting to her.

b. She doesn't know a damn thing happenning in the company, so she need to do the meeting so she could at least 'monitoring' the company.

c. She's simply sick with meeting obsession ailment.

Last days at my office for me feel so boring. Almost all of the employees are lazy to work, maybe becuz it's getting near to Lebaran. But seriously, the atmosphere here is so lame. First, becuz of the crazy big boss who acts as if she was a queen in this tiny classic showroom kingdom of the store, and secondly becuz of the same as crazy project manager who doesn't know anything about project (he doesn't know the thickness of a gypsum! How embarrassing!)

I feel so sick myself, being in this company, though my position/job description can be said is the easier of them all. But the system they're running here, doesn't make any sense to me. Okay, they hire us, want our professionalism, and all. That's what we do here; being professionals. At first I came here, I worked with all my heart and all the willing to give the best for the company. I defensed it from the irresponsibility sides (now ex-employees.)

But I was let down. I am disappointed. First, becuz of the affair the big boss is having. With her being unfaithful to her husband, she's humiliating the husband and the boyfriend at once in front of all the employees. She made the two man look like idiots and pressed their prides to the zero level. She made people disrespect the men becuz of her actions. But she doesn't like us to gossiping on her. OK, it's not polite to gossip on our boss. But she does it just right before our own eyes; all the flirts with the boyfriend and the anger to the husband.. how could we not gossip about those shameless acts? She doesn't act properly as a boss and a woman but she demands us to 'adore' her. Isn't it make her look silly?

She demands us to be on time. She never does. Really, she's always up at minimum 1 hour late from the schedule, while the schedule is late enough for all employees. Imagine how you have to come 8 a.m. sharp with consequences of being humiliated (for your name will appear on the wall for your lateness) and your salary being cut, but you also have to wait for her all day and when you're preparing to go home by 4 p.m. (due to the SOP of office hour), she comes to the office with her so-queen-like style just before 4 p.m., commanding this and that and ask you to wait for another 2 hours to do the 3 hours of bullshit meetings (we also think that the meetings aren't important at all cuz what we do in that sessions called 'meeting' are just reporting things she missed bcuz she never presents at the office, and the meetings are always seasoned by her argues with the general manager which could take another one unimportant hour itself.) Plus, you're not getting paid for working over hours (which usually ends by 8-9 p.m.)

In this company there's always punishment without no reward. It's really unfair how she doesn't value time while for all of us, time is money! She never thinks about others, she always thinks of herself. She doesn't care if you have family, or if you're sick or get married; she never shows any sympathy or shares the joy. She's too proud to show some love to her own employees. I put a pity on her: she's so proud with all the things she has and thinks that it made her a socialite but behind all of her employees curse her and pray for the company to bankrupt soon. So ironic, isn't it?

She always says: 'keep it simple' while she's never be that simple. She's kind of horror-vacui (the term we use at the art world for 'fear of the emptiness'.) She loves being surrounded with all the luxury (at least that's what she thinks) while for all of us she looks tawdry instead. She wants all to be organized while she's the only one who can not organize herself. I mean, look all the lateness that happened in the company; if it's not becuz of her, all of them can be avoided. She's the root of all the problems in the company, that's what I say. We all work seriously while she takes us the opposite. I say, this company is like a play, not a real and serious one. I say, this company can not grow like what she always say to us, if she doesn't change first.

None of her words come true and that made her look more ridiculous in our eyes. She acts like she's the important socialite but none of the people out there even know about this store. It's like, she's so proud of nothing, how narrow her vision is. Look at her employees; all laughing behind her back, gossiping about her obvious affair. About her being always late and her silly lifestyle. Look at her effort on being sexy and fashionable in front of the 8-years-younger boyfriend; the tank tops and short pants or the pajamas-like outfit or the gym costumes she wears to the office (ask the boys about this, they don't even think it's sexy.. it's disgusting, they say, all the chic wardrobes she wears in her 40-something of age). I can't understand how she never realize how silly she looks like in front of all the professionals she hire.

I was told by my HR Manager that this company is going to be large, it's gonna go public and that it's going to be a corporate company. Someday my boss is gonna get salary as the others, she'll have boss above her. She has to get along with the rules here. But I say it's kind of useless to wait for her to change; it's already rooting inside of her. Gonna take a lot of time and effort to see the changes. Not that I'm being skeptical but I see this a lot of time before. She needs to experience something shocking in her life to make her change that dramatically.

It's really nice working here by the way; I've learned so many things about a family interior company from here (with all the goods and bads) and I love the environment. All of the employees here are nice. The HRD really done their jobs well; they hire all the positive great people. It's so ashamed how they can not keep the potentials they found here. They let go of the many of great possibilities and brighter future just for their own silly pride and unimportant personal stuff.

Lucky that I still have to work for another day; all the sickness will all soon be a memory I'll laugh at when I recall about someday. All the humiliation in front of all the staffs of Sogo and Debenhams when we went shopping 'til midnight (the midnight sales we went to hunt cheaper goods for the projects, I say it was okay but my other colleagues really think it was humiliating and a bit traumatic), all the exhausting waiting moments becuz of she's being 'busy' all day, all the messages she sent post-midnight that made me feel annoyed at first but managed to ignore them eventually...

It's all so silly, all of them. But thankfully I've known nice people from here, known more system to be done in a company, and known the rights from wrongs. Thankful to the owner what hired me at first sight, cuz from her I've got a lot more knowledge, get nice friends and experienced an office life (for this might be my last one.)
Lucky that I can get out from here soon, just one more day and I'll be free.

I am now again in the crossroad. My working days are gonna soon be over, by this Friday. An interview has been scheduled for today 5 p.m. at Menteng. I liked it at first sight (the showroom) but after the first interview I had something, a feeling that I can't really fit in there. Today's gonna be the second interview I'll have there and that means the yes or no is gonna be decided today.

But meanwhile, getting along with Yohanes Sumera, William Anderson, Yanuar Kristanto, Joey Jovan, etc made me think twice. Freelancing job is as assuring as office work. When in Bandung all of my friends work at the office, that's why I didn't have the confident to do what I like to do. But now, my new friends have proved that it's okay to live like that.

Richard adviced to leave it to God only cuz He won't let us down. He'll give and show the way. Yeah I guess so.. all the things happened around me now have shown the way. I only need some courage to do the steps to get there, cuz He's prepared it to us. The last month working in my office has been wonderful to me; too many networking and inspiring ideas to do outside of the office. And it's nice. It built my confidence and made me more certain of where to go next.

From the 6 people I've asked this morning (Dad, Bent, Mario, Joey, Yoyo, and Richard) they prefer more to the freelancing. Not to include Yanuar and William, LOL. They're the bosses of their own, first people to support freelancing.

Yoyo said I've already have the answer. Joey said the same thing, the only one I need is the gut, the confidence. But they've ensured me to do this; seeing the fact that I get bored easily and not too fit in the office hour routines. (I just told my brother to take chances, get some risks, don't be so serious cuz life's short and happen only once, right?)

Yoyo put some tips for freelancing: commitment. Do your work for at least 8 hours a day, make it like office hour at my own time. Well, it's a really nice advice I think, and gonna be a useful one since my last freelance jobs aren't so well organized. But yeah, I guess I'll take the challenge, the opportunities. Life's still a long way to go for all of my dreams but if not now, then when?

I am the master of my own. I am the one who decide how my life is gonna be. And this is the kind of life that I love, that's why I'm gonna live it in. Amen.

For me, I want to stay living a healthy life because I want to keep it that way until I'm 60-70 years without having to medical check up, consuming medicines, or worse, stay in the hospital for such thing I could avoid when I'm younger.

Do it now (early prevention, the sooner the better): work out more, eat non-fat and non-cholesterol food, and keep those toxic stuff away from my body.
More benefits: I'll be able to do more things I want in my old years and reduce the budget for health.
