After mass it rained a little so we crossed the street and chilled at Lippo Mall, had dinner and waited for the rain to stop. When it finally subsided at 10 p.m. we rode back home by motorbike, but not even halfway home, it started to get heavy again and we were all wet (it was helpful to have raincoat, tho, but still it was chilly and windy). I hope the rain means blessings for our special Christmas.

Metis Restaurant with garden view |
The next day, Mba Liz (the cousin of my cousin's cousin) asked me to join her and her husband James for Christmas lunch at Metis Restaurant in Jl. Petitenget. We had probably the best Christmas lunch ever, because not only my companions are wonderful nice people, and the restaurant is one of the best place in Bali, but the menu was also special: salmon gravlax & soft-shell crab tempura for appetizer, duck rolade and roasted turkey for main course, finished with port wine parfait, Christmas pudding and molten cake for desserts. I didn't need to have dinner that night.

We then moved on to Mano at Petitenget beach, having John (James' co-worker) and Christine joined us for some beer/coffee while watching sunset. I felt such a great and positive energy from the people I met yesterday, made my Christmas so much jolly and merry, although without much of traditional celebration. Guess I've made new "family" in Bali, for my old friends are all gone their own ways now.

Later after sunset, John and I joined Christine and Mitchel (Christine's friend who I happen to know as well from 2 years ago) at Xich-Lo in Jl. Pengubengan Kauh. I couldn't eat for I was full from the big lunch, so I had just hot tea there. I drove Christine back to her hotel and ended up chatting with my new friend until it was nearly 11 p.m. Sometimes you meet great people you can feel the 'click' with when you least expect it, without so much effort, right?
