Festival Kopi Tanah Air, Pasar Ragam and Dee

This post was supposed to be made last week but I got very busy so I just write this now. Last week on Thursday my sister and I went to The Breeze after some business meeting in Alam Sutera. They got this Pasar Ragam (Diverse Market) festival going on along with Festival Kopi Tanah Air (Indonesian Coffee Festival) at this promenade and we looked around for ethnic and natural goods they were selling.

I spotted Dee Lestari, the author whose works I admired, was sitting with her husband in Excelso Café. This was never my thing to do (I lived literally 3-4 houses away when she lived in Bandung before but I had never dared to talk to her, then finally one day she moved out and I had lost my chances) but Bali did changed me a lot. I brought all the 8 books of hers (I haven't bought Gelombang) and handed them to her for autographs. This was the main reason why I came at first place.

During the signing we had a little talk, about our neighborship back in Awiligar and how "destiny" had made us back to be neighbors in the same complex in South Tangerang. Keenan was there, too, and I remembered when he was a lot smaller he used to be brought to my house by his nanny (he didn't remember me, of course). Then I was introduced to Dee's husband, Reza, too. They are really great and friendly people, only I got too nervous that I didn't say too much.

It was just minutes away to 5 p.m. and they were performing on stage at 5. So I took my place at J.Co with my sister, watching her singing and him on keyboard, with the background of the lake and setting sun at distance. It was a really great view from where I sat, which was rare to find a relaxed music performance at sunset. The last time I had the moment was at Jazz Market in Taman Bhagawan, Bali, in 2013.

It really was a great day for me and my sister, for we saw many things at the festivals and met old neighbors, as well. Even Keenan's nanny still remembered me. It was like a nostalgia, and the ambience at that "outdoor mall" was also very homy. It really felt like home, with friendly faces and small neighbor communities.. I guess BSD City, South Tangerang, is really a great place to live nearby Jakarta!
